Sunday Happenings

March 22, 2009 at 6:34 PM (Wedding)

Our day started out on a lazy note which included sleeping in a bit.  After we got out of bed, we played with the dogs and did a few chores around the house.  We also tackled some more wedding stuff.  Yay!  Ben and I “built” a tuxedo for him online.  I’ll be calling in the information tomorrow along with his measurements.  In addition, we ordered his wedding band.

We also spent a good amount of time creating our ceremony.  Our officiant gave us several versions (e.g. contemporary, traditional, short and sweet, civil) of each portion of the ceremony to choose from.  We both enjoyed going through the ceremony and couldn’t help but get a bit sappy.  Reading portions of the ceremony out loud made everything seem so real.  Of course we both already know it’s real but you know what I mean.  Our ceremony is a mixture of contemporary, short and sweet, and civil.  We’ve both decided to memorize our vows rather than repeat after the officiant.

We spent the remainder of the day working on our meal plan, grocery shopping, working on my dissertation, relaxing, and running errands.

We both ordered new glasses today. I’ve been wearing contacts for 2 weeks now for the first time in years. I like them but am looking forward to having glasses as an option in addition to the contacts. My new glasses only have rims around the top of the lenses–a new look for me, but I like them. Ben’s new glasses are similar. His also came with magnetic sunglasses which he is really excited about.

How was your weekend?
