Random Cleaning Tip #1

February 2, 2009 at 8:38 PM (Saving Money, Simplifying Life)

I was cleaning our microwave yesterday using a technique that I learned about a while ago.  Some of you may know this and some of you may not.  I thought it was worth sharing.

  1. Fill a small or medium bowl with water.
  2. Add a generous amount of banking soda (2-3 tablespoons) to the bowl of water.
  3. Place bowl in microwave and heat for 5 minutes.
  4. Wipe down insides of microwave.
  5. Voila!  Enjoy your easily cleaned microwave.

We usually cover our food so the microwave doesn’t get very dirty.  Covering food is really the first line of defense.  However, occasionally it does get pretty disgusting and this trick works wonders.  Give it a try and let me know what you think!
